Art Festival Video, 2016

Videographer, Editor: Angus Ashton

An art festival video showreel for The 2016 edition of the Unconformity which ran from October 14th – 16th. The Unconformity is a contemporary arts festival that explores the paradoxes of Queenstown, an art mining community on Tasmania’s wild and mountainous West Coast.

What we delivered:

Angus Ashton Film was commissioned by the festival to capture the artists, their works and the atmosphere around Queenstown over the 3 day event. The resulting footage was then compiled into a short showreel clip to showcase the 2016 festival and promote the upcoming 2018 Unconformity event. The final video was used on the festival website and on social media platforms.

Unconformity 2016 saw three days of diverse and unique live performances, installations and sound/visual works by local and international artists such as Matthias Schack-Arnott, Matt Warren, Cecilia Vicuña and Rob Thorne. The festival commenced on Friday the 14th with The Rumble by Ian Pidd, Martyn Coutts, Dylan Sheridan and Jon Gaspersic. As the opener the Rumble was an earth vibrating, loud procession of mining machinery and vehicles travelling through the main street of the town. The 2016 festival had more than 30 events located around various areas in and outside of Queenstown.
