For the opening of The Hutchins School’s N.J. Edwards Hub, Angus Ashton Film created a video for the official launch event. The School asked us to develop a narration that formed the backbone of the piece. From there, we shaped a script that brought together the story of Neale John Edwards, the School’s history and values, and the new building, as well as the collective effort that made it possible.
We combined archival footage, stills, and previously captured school promotional material to build the piece, weaving together moments from across the School’s history and present-day life. This was combined with contemporary footage of the School, creating a consistent visual thread across generations of students, staff, and community members. The video was presented on the opening night as part of a special evening marking the opening of the new building. It played to a live audience gathered to celebrate the N.J. Edwards Hub — a space that reflects connection, continuity, and the ongoing story of the School. The final piece served as an introduction to the building and what it represents, reinforcing the idea that while a building does not make a school, it continues the story of those who have shaped it and those still to come.
