Tasmania Police Recruitment Video Series

Police Recruiting Video, TV Commercial

DP: Angus Ashton, Daniel Peek, Director, Editor: Daniel Peek

A series of TV commercials and police recruitment videos for Tasmania Police and their new recruiting campaign. The short videos below are designed to encourage people to project themselves into the role of a police officer and to consider whether joining the Tasmanian police force might be a positive career choice for them.

What we delivered:

We provided production services for the project – conducting filming in and around Hobart in 2018. The final videos were delivered by Ashton & Peek for use in the Police recruitment campaign, as TV commercials, social media pieces and for use on Tasmania Police’s website.

This corporate video production and recruiting campaign was also specifically targeted towards encouraging more women to apply to become police officers in the Tasmania. The commercials were shot by Ashton and Peek throughout greater Hobart in 2017 and feature a number of current officers describing their own personal journeys to joining the Tasmanian police force. Daniel Peek was writer and editor for the corporate video production and directed Angus Ashton who was behind the camera as videographer. The series was well received among the community and representative of the trend in more and more women joining Tasmanian Police as, nationwide, state police forces progress towards total gender equality.

“Sergeant Louise O’Connor thought she wanted to be a primary school teacher, until she found policing.”

“Senior Constable Carly Lovell took the plunge when she was 18, and she feels like it’s what she’s meant to do.”

“For Sergeant Anna Lang, becoming a police officer was a dream come true.”
